Junior Competitive Golf

Are you looking to get your child into competitive golf? Do you want them to be able to compete with some of the best in the area? Here is where you will find all of the competitive golf opportunities that are available in the Niagara Region. These programs can be a stepping stone into National Level golf tournaments, and preparing for potential collegiate athletes.

Niagara District Junior Golf Tour

The Niagara District Junior Golf Tour is open to all Junior golfers (U-19). This tour typically has 10 tour stops at different Niagara courses throughout the year starting once the players have completed their school year, and runs until the third week in August. The focus is on the season-long points that accumulate throughout each event that accumulates for the final event at Beechwood Golf & Social House where there is a banquet with prizes that night. The season-long points race uses the best 8 rounds out of 10 with the last round as a mandatory counter. Players are also allowed to count other tournament scores played on the same day as the tour stops with prior approval from the tour.

Qualifying is held every year on Father’s Day in June at Beechwood Golf & Social House. Once a player qualifies for the tour they are exempt for the following year.

U.S. Kids Niagara

U.S. Kids Golf Local Tours are created to provide boys and girls, ages 5 to 18, the opportunity to advance their skills in the game in age-appropriate competition without having to take the time and incur the costs of having to travel long distances. A Local Tour consists of between six and eight one-day tournaments including a season-ending one-day Local Tour Championship. Players earn awards and points for each tournament.

Similar to the PGA Tour, players at U.S. Kids Golf events are encouraged to have caddies to help them play their best. Allowing caddies is a special component of our tournaments and is part of our commitment to encouraging family interaction that builds lasting memories. Players age 8 and under must have a caddie at all times.

Local Tours also provide players the opportunity to qualify for U.S. Kids Golf multi-day events through our Priority Status system. Players may qualify for events such as State Invitationals, Regional Invitationals, International Championships, and our U.S. Kids Golf World Championships in Pinehurst, NC.

All tournaments will be held based on the yardages represented under Age Groups & Yardages.
